Techniques

As a therapeutic coach, I specialize in utilizing therapeutic techniques to help my clients overcome obstacles and strengthen their relationships. My approach is unique to each individual or couple, ensuring that your needs are being met on a personalized level. With my guidance, you'll be able to develop skills that will enhance your relationships and improve your overall well-being.

These are some core techniques I use with clients, while adding unlisted techniques based on a client's needs:

Psychodynamic Work

One of my foundational beliefs in any type of therapeutic coaching, whether it be individual or couples work, is that bringing the unconscious to your consciousness will enhance your understanding of yourself and bring you insights that you've been missing. Within couples coaching, this also means understanding the dynamics that play out between you and keep you stuck in old patters. It's difficult to see and name these patterns on your own. It's even more difficult to understand how to shift old behaviors.

Relational Work

Another huge component to looking at your patterns and behaviors that haven't been helpful to your life is your ability to feel safe and not judged in sharing these issues. I believe a strong, healthy and nonjudgmental relationship between myself and my clients is a foundation for change.

Practical Skills

Foundational work in both individual and couples therapy can (and often should) involve practical techniques and solutions. These might include Cognitive Behavioral Techniques (CBT Therapy) in the form homework assignments, or concrete couples skills needed to argue in new and healthier ways. I believe these practical skills also need to be accompanied by additional types of therapies to enhance the experience and allow us to go deeper than surface-level solutions.
